Business Manager - Card Partnerships, Deal Evaluation Team

As a Business Analysis Manager on the Deal Evaluations team in Card Partnerships, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges in the partnerships space. You'll team with world-class professionals to develop strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line in a large and meaningful way by bringing on new partnerships and updating existing partnership deals. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation. This role also provides a big picture view of credit card economics as a whole and the ability to learn about what drives success in a credit card program and card partnership.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong analytical skills: Analyze and create valuations for potential new partnership deals and refine analysis and valuations for existing partners for renewals and renegotiations.

  • Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the partnership space.

  • Credit Risk: Evaluate the credit risk related to new and existing partnership deals.

  • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: others within the Deal Evaluations team, Finance, Credit Risk Management, Business Development, other teams in Card Partnerships and Branded Card, Strategy, and others to analyze and assess the potential partnership deal.

  • Strategic & analytic orientation: Work with the team to understand the potential partner and program; assess the program returns, risks, and opportunities; support the broader team in creating the sales strategy and pitch to the potential customer; and support any due diligence and contract negotiations. This requires conceptual thinking skills, problem solving, and a strong analytic orientation.

  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: Bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business.

  • Strong executive communication skills: Develop and present decks and other updates to senior leaders within the organization. This requires great written and oral communication skills, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.

  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- At least 2 years of experience in analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree

- 5+ years of experience in analysis

- 2+ years of experience in financial services

- 1+ year of experience in consulting

- 2+ years of experience in people management
