Accountable for delivery of a portion of a platform, or project (Agile team) initiative. You will be responsible for leaning in and helping agile teams solve their deep and complex challenges in resilient, scalable and repeatable ways.
Additionally, you will be responsible for helping lead the technology direction of the application as a whole and evangelizing and influencing the leadership team and stakeholders. This role is part of building reliable mobile applications that impact the way that Capital One does business. You will participate in detailed technical design, development and implementation of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Working within an Agile environment, you will actively participate in story planning and detailed daily standups, while providing valuable input for architectural design decisions, and developing code to meet story acceptance criteria. You will have the opportunity to continuously develop technical knowledge and skills on multiple platforms, and educate team members (including Scrum Masters, Product Owners and other platform stakeholders) on the capabilities and constraints of technologies.
Builds strong partnerships with teams / organizations as needed to deliver on initiatives
Provide functional, technical and process leadership for team(s) delivering on giveninitiatives
Responsible for leading and influencing technology architectural decisions
Support multiple concurrent efforts and deliver in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Handles multiple functions / roles for the projects / Agile teams
Has mastery over multiple business areas
Handle Highly Complexity and Ambiguous tasks
Communicate effectively with technical and business resources as well as uppermanagement
Foundational understanding and experience with Agile, Scrum and/or SAFe methodologies Technical:
Develop Android and iOS client code solutions that deliver on Product Strategy and adheres to established engineering best practices, design guidelines and principles
Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity
Actively participate in all team agile ceremonies and contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality
Be an active advocate of the platform through both internal and external developer communities
Working to remain an active learner in all technologies related to iOS and Android development (Kotlin, Android framework, Android Studio, SWIFT, 3rd party libraries, etc.)
Influence and contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from broader team
Mentor junior, mid-level and senior members of the team
Actively engage with developers outside of the local sprint team across various disciplines ( APIs, Web, etc.)
Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with other senior engineers and Architects
Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams
Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with team to find creative solutions
Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Swift, and other language idioms
Grow and provide SME level leadership
Leading/overseeing/influencing development activity of multiple developers among and beyond team Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
5+ years of experience in a technical role
5+ years of experience with application and/or data design, architecture and development
3+ years of experience managing and supporting the full life-cycle of IT developmentprojects
3+ years of experience with relevant software technologies and languages
2+ years managing and leading technical teams
Master's Degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, and Engineering or military experience
10+ years of experience in a technical role
10+ years of experience with application and/or data design, architecture and development
10+ years of experience leading the full life-cycle of IT development and platform support
5+ years of experience with relevant software technologies and languages
2+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies including Scrum and SAFebest practices
