Virtualization Services Manager

Job Description

The Manager of Virtualization Services will lead the definition, design, and implementation of the overall desktop/application virtualization platform. By creating and fostering a collaborative environment, this leader will understand the current and future needs of Capital One associates and partners, and provide virtualization solutions that deliver robust, secure, and highly effective experiences for all stakeholders.

General Responsibilities:

  • Identify and address strategic opportunities to improve business processes and/or reduce costs through better technological delivery systems and processes

  • Manage operational metrics

  • Provide leadership of day-to-day tasks to ensure that the Virtual Desktop / Virtual Application platforms are working appropriately and highly available to the customer base; and that any issues are being proactively resolved.

  • Guide engineers in defining and executing on the delivery of overall Virtual Desktop / Virtual Application strategy and roadmap.

  • Lead third level support functions within the incident management process for the Virtual Desktop / Virtual Application platforms.

  • Develop and present business cases and returns on investment as required do drive change in technology, process, and service delivery.

  • Develop, maintain, and present project plans, budgets, or strategy documents

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in Operation Management, IT System Management, Project Management or a combination

  • At least 5 years of experience with Citrix, VMWare Horizon View Virtual Desktop platform, and Citrix Xenapp

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Information Systems or Computer Science

  • Process Management Certification, Project Management Certifications, Technical Certifications, Business Process Management

  • 5+ years of technical leadership in a traditional or virtual desktop environment

  • 5+ years of experience performing business as usual tasks in a virtualization environment leveraging application virtualization, client virtual desktops, hosted virtual desktops, and presentation virtualization.

  • 5+ years of experience with Desktop Operating Systems

  • 5+ years of experience with Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, VMWare Horizon Workspace One, VMWare User Environment manager, VMWare Horizon View, VMWare ThinApp, and VMWare Fusion.
