Associate, Corporate Insurance Risk Management
Corporate Insurance Risk Management’s objective is to partner with internal clients and an external supplier network to minimize insurance-related risks to Capital One by utilizing world-class risk management and insurance marketplace capabilities. This role is an exciting opportunity for those looking to develop their career in risk management and insurance.
The Risk Specialist in this role will play a performing role in the Corporate Insurance Risk Management function, supporting the team in its work to procure insurance policies for the enterprise, to monitor third party insurance risk transfer, and to support CIRM’s insurance consulting across the enterprise. This associate will also be responsible for supporting a broad range of risk management and insurance initiatives.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support corporate insurance policy procurement activities
Support corporate insurance consultation activities
Facilitate the enterprise-wide loss prevention and loss control program
Assist with monitoring third party insurance requirements
Respond to requests from our insurance broker and carrier partners
Assist with data collection related to insurance renewals and claims
Support corporate insurance risk management department operations
Assist with day-to-day claims administration as a backup where needed
Strong written and verbal communication
Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer-focus skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High School Diploma/GED OR Military experience
At least 1 Year of experience related to commercial lines of insurance
Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance or a related field
Two years of experience in corporate insurance risk management or insurance claims management
Familiarity with a Risk Management Information System (RMIS)
Completion or work towards a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) OR Certified Risk Manager (CRM) OR Associate in Risk Management (ARM) OR Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation
