Principal Associate, Integrated Cyber Solution Engineering

As a Capital One Cyber Ops and Intel - Integrated Cyber Solution Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of new/existing cyber products and capabilities within the Cyber organization. The focus will be to maintain the broad knowledge of existing capabilities and identify areas of improvements, integration, automation and optimization. This includes developing Concept of Operation (ConOps) for integrated cyber solutions with the best of breed features from the deployed products within the Capital One environment.

This role is in our Cyber Operations & Intelligence organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cyber technology leaders to articulate and capture their vision, translating it into executable technical requirements

  • Partner with cyber technology engineering staff to identify areas of improvement and propose solutions (i.e. Process, Solution Integration, Automation, and additional COTs products)

  • Produce technical requirements when needed for internal product development and external tools evaluation

  • Maintain robust working relationship with partnering Cyber engineers and stay abreast of existing/new Cyber tools and capabilities

  • When asked, supervise a team of engineers in executing technical projects, while monitoring progress and resolving challenges and risks

  • Bring a passion to stay on top of project, program and portfolio management trends and methodology

  • Experiment with and provide innovative solutions to the Capital One Cyber community

  • Actively participate in the Capital One Cyber community and provide mentorship to junior staff

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience deploying, maintaining or operating cyber tools for Endpoint Management

  • At least 3 years of experience deploying, maintaining or operating cyber tools for Network Analysis and Discovery

  • At least 3 years of experience deploying, maintaining or operating cyber tools for Incident Response & Tracking

  • At least 3 years of experience deploying, maintaining or operating cyber tools for Identity, Credential, & Access Management

  • At least 2 years of experience managing cyber tools team

  • At least 2 years of experience in developing, implementing and updating documentation for cybersecurity tools, processes, and institutional knowledge

  • High School diploma, GED equivalent, or military experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in translating complex organizational cybersecurity requirements into direction for diverse teams across an organization, including but not limited to:

  • IT Infrastructure Engineers & Change Managers

  • Security Operation Center (SOC) / Network Operation Center (NOC) Specialists

  • Business Unit / Mission Area Project Managers

  • Capital Planning & Investment Control Board Members

  • At least 4 years of experience deploying, maintaining, operating or integrating cyber tools for Endpoint Management

  • At least 4 years of experience deploying, maintaining, operating or integrating cyber tools for Network Analysis and Discovery

  • At least 4 years of experience deploying, maintaining, operating or integrating cyber tools for Incident Response & Tracking

  • At least 4 years of experience deploying, maintaining, operating or integrating cyber tools for Identity, Credential, & Access Management

  • At least 3 years of experience managing cyber tools team

  • At least 2 years of experience in developing, implementing and updating documentation for cybersecurity tools, processes, and institutional knowledge; For example:

  • Change Management Processes & Procedures

  • System Security Plans

  • System Risk Assessments

  • System Security Testing & Evaluation
